| Press Release!!! Rude Guerrilla Theater Company will be hosting a six week acting class beginning August 9th. Classes will be Saturday Mornings from 10AM - 1PM. Scene study will be the primary focus, culminating in a special presentation the final day of class. The class is for actors interested in the study, development and cultivation of their craft. Actors who wish to create work that is truthful, engaging and compelling should strongly consider this class. Please prepare a one minute monologue for the first day. David Beatty (RGTC Member) received his MFA in Acting from the
University of California, Davis, where he taught acting and directing. David’s
university work also includes the premiere of two original theatrical plays,
Grocery Store Romance and Stories From My Own Backyard. He has
studied with Peter Lichtenfels, Anne Bogart, Rendi Eckhert and at The
Beverly Hills Playhouse with Al Mancini. In addition, he has studied
movement & Dance with Della Davidson. He has produced eight short
films and one feature with his production company, Double Yellow Line
Films.
Shannon Lee Blas (RGTC Member) is a singer/dancer/actor with more than
20 years of professional performing experience. Shannon received her AA in
Music for Vocal Performance in San Diego, California; and also holds a BA
in Drama with Honors in Acting from University of California, Irvine. She
has taught acting and coached actors at all levels. In addition to her theatrical
work Shannon also performs regularly as a jazz vocalist with Big Band 2000.
Shannon is a member of the RGTC Board of Directors.

| Important Stuff to Know about this Class: This class is about building actor confidence. It's about encouraging actors to contribute to their own creative process, think for themselves and make strong exciting choices for their characters. Class will progress towards a final scene presentation. Students will have the opportunity to choose their own final acting scene presented in front of an invited audience September 13th. Most Importantly… Class is about having FUN, being creative and giving yourself permission to play. |

Warm-Up Exercises & Improvisation (This means breaking down insecurities, getting everybody present and ready to work and respecting the class as a place to work and create!) 2. Professional Development (This means learning how to audition with confidence, understanding your resume, agents, casting directors and taking charge of your own career!) 3. Scene Study (This is the meat and potatoes of class!!! Work with other class members to rehearse and perform a 5-10 minute scene in front of an invited audience!) |
